He started with what he called the Great Leap Forward; it was an economic plan that made everyone basically farm in their own backyards to raise the economy up. When this failed he decided that he needed to switch to Communism, and make his own culture that everyone in China had to follow. When he proposed this many people went against him because they didn’t want to be Communist and didn’t want to change their culture. Then when he really went over the line he started executing people that went against him, which led to somewhere between 45 to 75 million deaths. The Cause
